The King of the Rock is a fun competition between Civil Air Patrol teams. Teams are made up of 6 team members. The team that wins will have the honor of being named ‘King of the Rock’ and will have possession of the Eagle traveling trophy until the next competition. In addition, each team member of the winning team will receive the ‘King of the Rock’ challenge coin.

This is a Camping event. All members that attend (including senior members) will need to bring appropriate camping supplies to last two days and two nights. Each team will participate in a series of up to 10 challenges. The teams will be graded on effectiveness of their teamwork, completion of the task, and esprit de corps. On Saturday evening the teams will cook a ‘Formal Dinner’ for their team members. This dinner will be judged on creativity, quality of food, and presentation.

Although The Rock is more informal than an encampment, the cadets will be expected to maintain appropriate customs and courtesies throughout the event. Senior members will be asked to help in the judging of the challenges. The challenges will take place on Saturday from 0900 through 1530. The events will take place along the trail in the forest. Please be prepared with water, bug spray and sunscreen.

Since this will be the special 10th Anniversary, all members will get a KOR tee shirt.
